One of the few restaurants that made an impression on me when I visited Manila for the first time, that was way back when I was still in grade school. I remember it because the buffalo wings and the blue cheese dip was so good that I wanted to eat here again.
Anyway, we went to Greenhills Shopping Center the other weekend. While walking out of the parking lot we saw Don Henrico’s, so we knew where we will be having our lunch.
Chicken Ala Buffalo (3pcs.) Php 380.00
The sauce and the dip is exactly the same as the Buffalo Wings, the only difference is the part of the chicken. Chicken Ala Buffalo are served with thigh and breast parts whereas the Buffalo Wings version only have wing parts. This tastes so good, it’s a must-try when you visit this restaurant. This dish is also one of their specialties.
Traditional upstate New York style tender pieces of chicken, marinated and cooked to perfection and coated with tangy BBQ sauce. Served with our ranch dipping sauce.
Sole with Duxelle in Aglio Olio Pasta Php 260.00
My wife’s typical order, usually anything with seafood and if it’s pasta then it must be pesto or oil-based. The cream dory fillet tasted great and it didn’t have that fishy odor (I’m very picky when it comes to fish). It was an unusual pasta dish because of the tomato sauce and oil-based sauce mixture, but regardless of that, it was still good.
Cream dory fillet, stuffed with creamy mushroom duxelle topped with fresh tomato sauce on a garlic, oil-based pasta. Sprinkled with parmesan cheese. Served with freshly toasted garlic bread.
Clam Chowder Soup Php 75.00
Tasted ok, nothing special.
Rich and chunky New England-style Clam chowder served with crackers.
Blueberry Cheesecake Php 170.00
Not bad, tasted good, probably as good as the ones sold by Cheesecake Etc.
Through the years, this place hasn’t changed much, the food was still great and the service was good. Hoping to come eat here again when time and finances permit.
